Some funny videos of the boys

Calvin & Aiden LOVE the Jason Aldean song "She's Country". As you'll see, Aiden will be in a bad mood and when he hears the song will start laughing and dancing. Enjoy!

Calvin's new thing is to make faces. Not sure where this came from, but we love it! Enjoy some of his many faces!!

Aiden's 1st Birthday

I still cannot believe it has been a year since Aiden was born! So much has happened this past year and we are so fortunate for everything we have been blessed with. Aiden is walking all over the place and has been tagged as my "sensitive" child... FUN! We celebrated with friends and family yesterday and had so much fun. A game of hockey even broke out in Calvin's room... fortunately, there were no major fights!

An Afternoon at the Playground

It was absolutely gorgeous today (mid-70s), so we decided to go to the playground at the boys' school. I love the playground there because there is a fence around it, so they boys can roam freely and we don't have to worry about where they are. Aiden is walking more each day, and Calvin is growing way too fast! Enjoy some clips from our afternoon at the playground!

"There's a Monster in My Bed"

Last night while Scott & Calvin were in the bathroom getting ready for bed, I decided to climb into Calvin's bed and get under the covers to surprise them. The anticipation was mounting for me, and I was trying my hardest not to laugh. I heard them come in the room and Calvin kept saying "daddy, there's a monster in my bed." Scott kept assuring him that there was no monster in his bed and was trying to convince him to pull the covers back to see. After the fact, Scott told me the following... Scott picked Calvin up to put him in the bed and Calvin grabbed the top bunk and put his feet on the bottom rail so he couldn't be put in the bed. Finally Scott got him in the bed at which point Calvin basically jumped over the rail screaming bloody murder "there's a monster in my bed" and with the most terrified face ever. At that point, I pulled the covers down from my head and Calvin (mid-screaming & crying) said "that's not a monster, that's mommy!" It was seriously the funniest and saddest thing I have seen. He climbed into bed with me and said "mommy, you scared me. I thought you were a monster." I told him that I was sorry and that I didn't mean to scare him, but just wanted to surprise him & daddy. Oh, Calvin... I love you! And how I wish I had the video camera out for that one!!

Okay, so I decided to do this again tonight and got the below video.

The boys

Aiden took his first steps last Thursday, Feb. 19. I went to get him at daycare and when he saw me, he let go and took 4 steps. I asked Ms. Kelly, our babysitter, if he had been doing this a lot and she said that she saw him a few times that day. How exciting! We will be celebrating Aiden's first birthday in less than two weeks, which is really scary, but really exciting. He has been eating a lot of table food and is pretty much off of formula. The next step will be to get rid of the bottle. Ever since he got his tubes put in, he has been sleeping 12+ hours at night and is pretty much down to one nap a day... good for daycare, bad for us! Below is a video of his new walking abilities.

Calvin is now 100% potty trained. He is wearing his "big boy undies" at night and is so proud to tell us when he has to & when he has already gone potty. His vocabulary is growing every day and he loves reading his "No, David" books. Yesterday at the grocery store, he even pushed his own shopping cart, helped put items in the cart, and put them on the belt for the cashier. He loved it!

Friday was picture day at school, and yes, I was the parent who sent my kids to school (yet again) in matching outfits. But, I must say they were ADORABLE!!!! They had jeans, white button-up shirts & ties. Calvin even had new shoes, which he told everyone about. We practiced our picture smile, so we'll see how that works out.

Aiden loves to dance to the "Bad Boys" theme song
